We’re excited to be a partner with Mosso, a cutting edge manufacturer creating stunning modular structures that provide flexible external spaces. With numerous options available the Mosso structure can be configured with glazed folding walls and a fully retractable louvred roof allowing the space to be quickly and simply opened up to nature – giving a unique learning environment for any school looking to set themselves apart from the competition and give students and teaching staff outside of the box learning environments.
Biophilia has been defined as the affinity of human beings with the natural world and with a Mosso structure you are enabling a connection with the outside and nature – which has been proven to improve concentration levels, increase creativity, enhance wellbeing and reduce absenteeism. The structure can be easily installed on a base in a specific location such as in a wooded clearing, a field or simply anywhere within the schools grounds and in some cases may not require planning permissions due to the height being under 2.5m. We will supply and install a fully inclusive package including groundworks, services including power supplies, installation of the structure and fitout of the internals including flooring, acoustics and furniture. A standard module size is 6m x 4m and we have shown spaceplanned options for both a 6m x 4m learning space as well as 3 module 6m x 12m classroom that could potentially take up to 30 students in a typical classroom layout.
Consider the possibilities to run creative subjects such as art, drama, music within this truly biophilic space and indeed any given curriculum involving a written output such as English, Maths and Geography (we are yet to design a science laboratory or an IT Suite in an outdoor space but anything is possible for the future!).
